Aurora-Gaming placing 3rd in C-Tournament
SLAP LIVE #14 has come to an end, and all have now travelled the long way back home for some well deserved resting.A little review on the weekend:
As mentioned in the earlier news about the event, we ended up in group with PAUSE and Forward, who turned out to be a bunch of tough cookies. This placed us in the C-tournament, which we then started playing saturday at 14:00. As you can see on our matches, this actually went quite well:) We played and we played and we won and we won - right untill our very last match vs Kwaizy!. At this point it was easy to see on our play how tired we were, and Kwaizy on the other hand were up and ready. Fortunately we had at this point gotten so far in the tournament, that we were among the last 4 teams, which then meant we were to play about 3rd and 4th place this morning at 10:00.
Arriving to a very cold event hall, we turned on our comps and tried to get ready for the match. We started out on train, which actually is one of our favourite maps, but we just werent awake yet:P It took some time for us to gear up, and when we finally did - it was too late, and the map ended 13-16. Then it was time for inferno, which concerned us a little bit, since we have had problems with our CT-play on this map. This turned out though to be the least of our concerns, since we managed to play probably the best CT-side in a long time, taking home 14 rounds! As T it didnt take us long to win the only 2 rounds needed for a win on inferno, end result: 16-5.
Then came cpl_mill - woho. The one map we havent played that much before the event, having used a lot of time on the remaining maps. Fortunately we had played mill a couple of times during the tournament already, so we had a couple of tactics for it. Starting out as CT, we loose gunround, but manage to keep up a nice defense, ending the side 10-5. As T we didnt have much luck on our gunround either, but after a lot of faking around, we manage to get our 6 T-rounds, ending the map 16-11 and finally placing ourselves 3rd in the C-Tournament!:)
We would like to thank SLAP for yet another great event, great location, the best food and nice setup!(even though it was too cold this sunday morning:P). Also big thanks for all the support we received during our matches - it was really nice guys - and of course also to our opponents for some nice fair matches - GG all:D
